We use premium quality Unrefined Organic Shea Butter, growing naturally in Ghana; hand-harvested by the women in the co-op, prepared by the traditional kneading process without the use of added chemicals or preservatives.

Unrefined Organic Cocoa Butter, a prime pressed creamy yellow butter from the seed of the Cacao Tree, has the distinct aroma of chocolate. Cocoa butter is an excellent all over the body moisturizer as it acts as an emollient (softening and soothing to the skin) that adds a protective layer that locks in natural moisture. It soothes and softens dry, itchy skin. The natural emollient, moisturizing and antioxidant characteristics of cocoa butter make it an excellent choice for dry overworked skin.

Organic Lavender Essential Oil gently moisturizes skin, and is non-comedogenic for pores. Lavender oil is naturally antibacterial, meaning that it kills acne-causing bacteria that might infiltrate your pores.

Ylang Ylang Essential Oil helps to maintain moisture, and helps balance and regulate oil production to prevent excessive dryness or oiliness. It is good for dry, normal, oily, sensitive, and combination skin types.

In our body butter we use only virgin, unrefined, organic shea butter and unrefined organic cocoa butter. Unrefined shea butter and cocoa butter have not been bleached or deodorized and retains their natural scent, color, and nutritional benefits.

• Emulsifying wax is an organic source that is best treated to be used in cosmetics and skincare products. It is a very good moisturizer for the skin. The base of the wax is extracted from the fatty acids and plant oils.
• What is ECOCERT? ECOCERT is one of the largest organic certification organizations in the world. For a product to be certified, it needs to have a minimum percentage of organic ingredients, be at least 95% natural and not contain any harsh chemicals, such as phenoxyethanol.
• Stearic acid (derived from Palm Oil, *RPSO) is a versatile fatty acid that functions as an emollient, emulsifier, cleansing and texture-enhancing ingredient in skin care formulas. It has been shown to protect skin’s surface against water loss and help shore up skin’s protective barrier.
• COSMOS stands for “COSMetic Organic and Natural Standard”, which sets certification requirements for organic and natural cosmetics products in the Europe. The standard is recognized globally by the cosmetic industry.
